One of the biggest changes I made this year (besides focusing on sketchnotes) was to create an editorial content calendar. By picking a monthly theme and deconstructing the posts from there, it provides a lot of clarity about what I’m creating and what I need to say no to so I can get it done.
March’s theme is to help people take better notes at meetings. To do that, I had to understand what the common objections were for people to start using sketchnotes in meetings. A big obstacle is the lack of confidence in drawing to begin with, so I address it first and move on from there.
I’m also taking on 2-4 partner sketches each month, if you know of anyone who is interested. Last month I partnered with the Sounds Like a Movement podcast to create a sketch of their interview with Seth Godin. I also was asked at my main job (with ConvertKit) to sketchnote the weekly blog.
Finally, I want to do more with video this month. I’ve been putting it off for weeks, but no longer! I have two short videos scheduled that will give a better visual example of two lessons in the starter course.
That’s it for March, hope you enjoy this little sneak peek at what’s to come!
